Job Description:
This position of data coordinator is for the research project on Cough sounds of Covid-19 patients and/or suspected individuals. The data coordinator shall work in close association with the Health Manager/Nodal Officer at the proposed study site. The job majorly involves identifying and enrolling participants, collect data as per the standard operating procedures, manage logistics for the study, recording, and reporting of study-related information. Adequate infection prevention practices will be ensured for the safety of the data coordinators and they shall be provided complete training for all the necessary procedures. This is a short-term contractual position for 3 months, based out of identified institutions in Odisha.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • He/She will assist the Health Manager/Nodal Officer in adhering to infection prevention guidelines in the data collection area
  • Identification and recruitment of potential participants for the project as per inclusion criteria
  • Delivering consent and ensuring written informed consent from the participants
  • Conduct an initial assessment of the patient and fill in essential demographic and primary clinical information on the data collection app.
  • He/She will ensure that guidelines and safety precautions are followed during the entire course of data collection. Data consists of basic socio-demographic, clinical information, and sound samples from enrolled individuals.
  • He/She will be tracking and tracing test results for all participants and will be responsible for ensuring the completeness of data collection.
  • He/She will ensure that patients are correctly identified as per facility based Unique IDs and accuracy of data is ensured
  • Daily Reporting to and assisting the managers for the activities involved in the data collection for the said project.
  • Keep the track of the logistics supplied for the data collection exercise and ensure that adequate care is taken while using the same
  • To follow other associated tasks assigned by the supervisor for project implementation
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Age < 45 years
  • Minimum Educational qualification- Diploma Nurse – GNM; Laboratory Technician - DMLT
  • Graduate with experience of working in health programs, good aptitude and trainable in infection prevention protocols - MSW / BSc / BCom
  • Medical fitness - The individual should not have any known comorbidities (Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease, active Tuberculosis, Bronchial Asthma, renal or liver disease)
  • The individual should not have a history of smoking or alcohol dependence.
